Requirements

  • Shopify Store: An active Shopify store (any plan)
  • Admin Access: Store owner or staff account with app installation permissions

  • Theme Access: Ability to customize your Shopify theme to add the chat widget

Installation

Install from Shopify App Store

Visit the Shopify App Store, search for "ReplyIt Chat Widget", and click Install.

Authorize the App

Review the permissions requested and click Install app to authorize ReplyIt to access your store data.

Configure Widget Settings

After installation, you'll be redirected to the ReplyIt app settings page in your Shopify admin.

Quick Tip

After installation, you'll need to create a widget at ReplyIt.ai and copy the Widget ID and API Secret to complete setup.

Create a Chat Widget

Before configuring the Shopify app, you need to create a chat widget in your ReplyIt dashboard.

Go to ReplyIt Dashboard

Visit ReplyIt Chat Widgets and log in to your account.

Create New Widget

Click Create Widget, select your AI agent, and configure the widget appearance (colors, position, welcome message).

Enable Shopify Platform

In widget settings, select Shopify as the platform to enable Shopify-specific features.

Copy Widget Credentials

After creating the widget, copy the Widget ID and API Secret. You'll need these for the Shopify app configuration.

Important

Keep your API Secret secure. It's used to authenticate communication between your Shopify store and ReplyIt servers.

Configure the ReplyIt app in your Shopify admin at AppsReplyIt Chat Widget.

Security Warning

Never share your API Secret publicly. If compromised, regenerate it in your ReplyIt dashboard.

Domain Registration

After configuring Widget ID and API Secret, you must register your Shopify store domain to allow the widget to communicate with ReplyIt servers.

Save Settings First

Ensure Widget ID and API Secret are saved before attempting domain registration.

Click Register Domain

In the app settings, click the Register Domain button in the sidebar.

Verify Registration

You should see a success message confirming your store domain is registered and authorized.

Note

Domain registration is required for security. It ensures only your authorized store can use your widget credentials.

Theme Setup

After configuring the app and registering your domain, add the chat widget to your Shopify theme.

Go to Theme Customizer

In Shopify admin, go to Online StoreThemesCustomize.

Add App Embed

In the theme editor sidebar, scroll to App embeds section and enable ReplyIt Chat Widget.

Click Save in the top-right corner to publish the widget to your live store.
